Mark Williams

Mark Williams moved from Florida to Gunnison, Colo. with his family as a late teen. Already an avid fisherman, Mark discovered the art of fly fishing and is accused of dragging an entire menagerie of extended family and friends into the sport with him. His enthusiasm for the sport combined with his increasing skill made him the teacher of choice among this ever expanding following. After ten years in Gunnison Country, completing his schooling, serving 2 years in the Marine Corp.,and marriage to Karyn, Mark and family returned to Florida where he was involved in Architectural Drawing ( when he wasn't fishing). In July of 2007 Mark brought his family, then consisting of Karyn, two daughters, and young son Mason back to Colorado to visit family and to guide for Dan's. That visit proved to be so enticing that Mark and family returned permanently to Colorado mid-winter 2008.  Summer of 2009 brought two significant additions to the Williams family. On June 23, Baby Karter joined his two sisters and  brother and was declared a "Keeper". At the same time Mark opened an extension to Dan's Fly Shop in Gunnison.  You can find him on Main Street next to Turquoise Junction doing what he loves best - sharing his knowledge of fly fishing.
