Dan began a long career in fishing & guiding at the age of 16, even prior to the official opening of Dan's Fly Shop in 1960. For over 47 years, he has waded the Lake City streams, taking with him both novice and professional, building a repertoire of lifetime friends and unforgettable memories. To Dan, a stranger is just a friend he hasn't met yet.
Dan is often heard to say, "A bad day on the stream is better than a good day in the office."
